Facilities and Grounds
The Archives Room is a place where the records and artifacts of the church are kept. Its purpose is to be a keeper of the past to enable an understanding of the present, and plan for the future.
This committee coordinates with the church staff, including the rector, business manager and/or sextons in regard to all additions, repairs, and necessary improvements for both building and mechanical infrastructure on the Christ Church campus.
Profits from the sale of books and gifts are donated to various missions. Lately, we have made donations only within Christ Church.
This committee assists in the upkeep of our facility and grounds working with the staff and the interiors Committee when needed.
To act as a clearinghouse for decisions concerning the interiors of Christ Church and to work with the sextons to oversee the maintenance of the interiors.
Members of the Library Committee maintain the materials in the Christ Church library. They catalogue and shelve new additions, periodically clean and re-shelve used books, and organize the collection in as useful a form as possible.
The Columbarium is located in the Memorial Garden, which provides a quiet place for prayer and meditation. The Columbarium consists of 288 niches for internment of cremated remains of present and past members of Christ Episcopal Church and their immediate families. The Columbarium is overseen by the members of this committee.
Office volunteers assist the staff to answer the phones or process mail. One specific volunteer on Thursday mornings prepares the bulletins for the Sunday Services, keeps the Bride Book up to date, and responds to memorials that have been given to Christ Church. Volunteers are sometimes needed on short notice, while others might volunteer on a regular basis.
