Outreach Ministry at Christ Church

Christ Church serves our closest neighbors in need right here on our beautiful campus in a variety of ways.

To establish an ongoing ministry and fellowship with our fellow neighbors who reside in the Thunderbird Apartments, a seventy unit subsidized housing complex across the street from Christ Church.  There are many possibilities for involvement.  They would include a willingness to lead a Bible Study, Support Group, giving financial advice, or swimming lessons in the apartment pool.  Other areas of ministry could be helping with holiday meal planning, job counseling, or assisting with crafts at parties.  There is also the opportunity to commit to regular prayer for these residents.

The Hospitality, or Food Pantry, is Christ Church's outreach to the surrounding neighborhood to provide food to needy families.  The Pantry is open each Saturday morning.  The number of families who receive each week range from 80-120. Prayer ministers are also available for any who request it.

This group meets weekly to knit prayer shawls and lap robes for anyone who needs a hug and some warmth.  Upon completion these pieces are blessed by a priest and delivered to the recipient, who is lifted up in prayer as well.
