Acolytes serve the clergy and congregation during worship services in the procession, recession, and at the altar during communion. This ministry is for youth in the 6th to 12th grade.
Skills needed: Have a desire to serve and participate in our corporate worship.
Training Required: Training sessions are held periodically as needs require.
Time Commitment: Once a month at a Sunday worship service. Serving at other special worship services may occur, but this is rare.
Acolyte Sponsors: Robert Hanley & Chip Archer
A volunteer serving as lay assistant would assist in contacting individuals asking them to provide flowers for the altar either in memory of a loved one or for special occasions. A schedule and calendar are kept and parishioners are then re-contacted annually. (Ideally a gift of at least $50.00 is contributed toward the altar flowers and ideally two families are asked to contribute each week.)
Skills needed: Communication and organizational skills
Number of Volunteers: The one person to assist the church staff member
Contact: Carol Miller
The Altar Guild works in teams preparing the altar prior to services and remaining after a service to clean up and prepare for a service that follows if necessary.
Skills needed: There are many ways to serve on the Altar Guild including helping to set up, washing the silver that we use each service or cleaning up after the service.
Training Required: On job training as needed.
Time Commitment: Currently we have 3 teams and each team is “on duty” approximately every 6 weeks for 2 weeks.
Length of Commitment: Year round; flexible within your team

Several times a year you lead the congregation in the Prayers of the People using the prayers supplied by our priests or designated in the Prayer Book.
Skills needed: Willingness to participate in the worship service.
Length of Commitment: One year or however long you would like to be a part. Very flexible as it is possible to trade with others if necessary

Ushers greet the congregation with happy faces and hand out church bulletins. They collect the offering and usher during communion. After the service they count the offering and secure it.
Skills needed: A friendly personality and a commitment to being there on time.
Training Required: Minimal, basically can be learned at first service as you begin to serve.
Time Commitment: You must be at the church early and be prepared to remain until duties are complete.
Length of Commitment: As long as a volunteer cares to serve.
