SAMM Shelter Christmas Gift Project
Begins in November

Each Sunday School class from nursery through children, and youth through adults will be sponsoring families from the SAMM Shelter in our annual SAMM Shelter Christmas Gift Project. These courageous families are transitioning from homelessness to independent living and have very little disposable income with which to purchase Christmas gifts. Each year the sincere appreciation expressed by each of these families is overwhelming. Ask anyone who has come to the Christmas Party at Christ Church where these gifts are presented. It has been the highlight of many of our holidays and made our Christmas truly meaningful. Information on these families and a proposed Christmas Gift “Wish List” will be posted in each Sunday School class location. Each class is asked to pray for their sponsored families as the holiday season approaches and sign up to bring a Christmas gift for a member of their sponsored family. It is our hope that the gift you purchase for these families be the most important one of the season. If you have children, please involve them in the purchasing of this special gift. They will learn firsthand that it is more blessed to give than to receive.

“Hanging of the Greens” Parish Potluck
Coming Sunday, November 27 (First Sunday of Advent) at 11:30 AM in the Parish Hall

On Sunday November 27, the first Sunday of Advent, it will be time to “deck the halls” – Parish Hall, that is. Our Parish Hall will be the setting for many holiday events, so it needs our loving touch. A Potluck Lunch will be served with the church providing the main dish of ham and drinks and the Parish Family providing the sides. (See your potluck assignment below.) We will hang greenery and decorate the Parish Chrismon tree and a children’s tree as Christmas carols play to get us into the holiday spirit.

*Please bring a Pot Luck offering to the church kitchen ready to serve at cold or room temperature before 10:15 AM service:
