Adult Education: ALPHA

Next ALPHA Begins Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Alpha is for anyone interested in investigating the Christian faith or for those who want to deepen their existing relationship with Christ. An 11-week course, each session begins with an informal dinner, followed by a 40-minute video explaining a key issue related to Christianity, and ends with a small-group discussion about the topic. Alpha began in London and is now held in thousands of churches around the world.

What Is ALPHA?

Alpha is a non-denominational 11 week course which covers the fundamentals of Christianity in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. It is for people who are beginning to explore their faith as well as those life-long Christians who want a deeper spiritual life.

  • Begins with a tasty, sit-down dinner
  • Followed by a 40-minute DVD talk addressing a key issue related to the Christian faith (see schedule of topics)
  • Ends with a small group discussion about the evening’s topic. It is a time to ask questions, express opinions, or simply sit back and listen.
  • The Alpha course is free. However, guests are invited to make a voluntary contribution towards the food and cost of the weekend away.
  • You don’t have to be a church member.
  • Childcare will be available.
