Our Foundation For Moving Forward
Capital Campaign Program
REACHING OUR CAPITAL CAMPAIGN GOAL
Through the tremendous generosity of our parish members, we have received pledges and gifts totaling over 90% of our original Capital Campaign goal of $2,110,000! We need only $188,000 more in gifts to reach that goal.
With Capital Campaign funds, we are making payments on the remaining balance of our construction loan for the Parish Hall and other building renovations. However, we expect to incur $60,000 in interest expense this year.
If you are able and have the financial flexibility, we ask for you to please consider helping Christ Church in one or both of two very meaningful ways:
Pledge or give to our Capital Campaign, so we may raise the final remaining $188,000 to reach our original campaign goal; and/or
Accelerate your existing Capital Campaign pledge and pay the balance now, rather than waiting until year-end. This will allow us to pay down the loan more quickly, saving interest.
Will you please respond today?
For over 100 years, our Christ Church family has been a light to the world. With our sure foundation, we are moving forward and leading the way! May God bless you forcontinuing to faithfully worship, pray and serve our Lord.

Laying A Sure Foundation
The Capital Campaign initiated in 2006 will be entitled Our Foundation for Moving Forward With an eye on the 100 year history of Christ Church, from which we are embarking, the Old Testament prophet Isaiah tells us that our Lord is… “laying...a foundation stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation: ‘One who trusts will not be afraid.’” —Isaiah 28:16. We are confident that we are laying a foundation for the next 100 years.
In the late 1980s, the First to the Lord (Phase I & II) capital campaigns were huge steps forward for Christ Church. Both profoundly changed our campus, our Church and hearts. Both were initiated more than 30 years after completion of the administrative offices, parish hall and kitchen. Our Children’s Ministry flourished with the new Family Ministry Center. But
the First to the Lord envisioned a Phase III, in which continuing and expensive issues would be addressed. These items have now been completed:
- Providing better access between the church and parish hall, including an elevator;
- Rearranging and refurbishing offices in the Administration Wing (the first ever since the late 1950s), including a first class bride’s room;
- Expanding the kitchen spaces and purchasing new, more efficient and safe appliances;
- Renovating the parish hall and adjacent areas;
- A turning point in the Church's life has occurred with the purchase of the Thunderbird Apartments. Plans include the purchase of Russell and Lewis streets along with a small part of Howard. Initial architectural plans call for a large multipurpose structure for different types of church events in the future.

Since everything we do should address the needs of others outside the parish, our campaign will also include:
- Missions/Outreach Capital Projects
- Campaign Expenses
Accordingly, Our Foundation for Moving Forward will encompass an asking Campaign Goal –
Phase I: $2,110,000
Please help us lay a foundation for future generations with your support of this campaign that will ensure that the campus and missions of Christ Church continue to serve our Church family, our community, our Lord and our spiritual growth.
