Outreach Ministries

 

Christ Church supports a variety of Christian organizations whose missions are to minister to those in need. While each organization targets a different group - elderly, homeless, special needs children, women just released from prison, etc. - the unifying factor is to follow Jesus' example and share what we have with others. The face of Christ Church is known in our community by our support of reaching out to others, to help where we can find ways to help.

Have you ever wanted to serve those less fortunate on Thanksgiving Day but it has never worked out? Here is your chance! Come serve in the west side of San Antonio. Last Chance Ministries is holding their annual Thanksgiving dinner and family-fun event on Saturday, November 17 from 3-8 p.m.  We will provide the corn and green beans for their meal, and our hands and feet as their servers. Sign-up sheets will be available in the gazebo or you can e-mail Mary Ellen Archer at memarcher@me.com to claim your time slot.  

 

 

Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” Luke 14:12-14.
