ResourcesChrist Church Endowment, Inc.
The Christ Church Endowment, Inc., valued today at $4.1 million, is composed of six distinct funds: the Ellison Scholarship Fund, the Building Maintenance Fund, the Restricted Fund, the Special Gifts Fund, the Dave Woodward Fund, and the Parker Memorial Fund. The Endowment’s board manages and distributes income from each fund according to policies and purposes spelled out by a fund’s founder. Though incorporated as a separate entity apart from the Church in 1996, the Church had been managing these endowed funds, in some cases, since the fifties. Their principal is held in perpetuity. To emphasize, the Endowment is a ministry, alongside the numerous other ministries at the church from the pantry to the choir. We are not in the business of raising money. We do not conduct capital campaigns. None of the Endowment’s income is intended to provide operating funds to the Church. Rather, the Endowment exists to meet the needs of those who wish to make the Kingdom of God more a reality on this earth through their financial generosity expressed as a gift while alive or by will. Its funds normally cover special purposes not ordinarily covered through the budget. If your vision of faith includes the church in your will or by gift please contact Cherelle Liddle, 736-3132. We have worked with a variety of assets and financial arrangements and are here to serve you. Columbarium at Christ Church The price of a single niche is $1,100 and includes administrative fees. Chuck Collins’ book, Cranmer’s Church, is available for purchase at Christ Church. He writes in the introduction: “The chapters of this book were written over the 25 years I’ve been a priest. They were written to address issues about our history, the theological underpinnings of Episcopalianism, and more practical matters of why we worship the way we do and what membership means… There is also in these chapters more than a hint of wanting to defend what is being challenged in our day by those who don’t care much about our history or our corporate Anglican identity.” All proceeds from the sale of Cranmer’s Church will benefit the Anglican Diocese of Jos, Nigeria. To purchase a copy, please contact Cherelle Liddle at 736-3132. The cost of the book is $10 plus $2 for shipping.
